Caixa Banco de Investimento was distinguished by AQ Research Ltd with the first place for recommendations given for companies listed on the main Portuguese index - PSI 20. AQ Research Ltd, is an independent entity with headquarters in London, which aims to assess the quality of work done by Equity analysts ("Promoting Good Research”). AQ Research assesses the performance of each analyst and consequently the research departments with the parameter RQ, which is based on analysis of the recommendations of each analyst for each company over a period of 12 months, compared with the performance of shares in the market during the same period. In the report published by AQ Research for 2010 for several European markets, taking as reference the companies included on major indexes, Caixa Banco de Investimento was in focus, getting the top of all measures on the PSI 20, with an impressive 92% of recommendations being directionally correct in the year. Note that AQ Research the analyst of Caixa Banco de Investimento, Carlos Jesus, with the top ranking in terms of recommendations on companies in the main Portuguese index - PSI 20. ESN - European Securities Network, a pan-European investment banks and/or brokerage houses, which integrates CaixaBI, was elected, in the same publication, the best European broker in 2009.

CaixaBI was awarded Best Investment Bank in Portugal 2010 by Global Finance. This award confirms CaixaBI´s consistent leadership. In fact, the same distinction was awarded in 2009 by Global Finance and, in 2008 and 2007, the same title was awarded by Euromoney´s Awards for Excellence.

The Banker announced its Deals of the Year 2010 and considered the deal EnergyOn as Structured Finance Highly Commended Deal of the Year. This highly innovative deal was developed in two phases, and CaixaBI was Joint Arranger e Joint Lead Manager for the securitisation of the tariff credits of EDP - Serviço Universal (Group EDP). Phase one referred to 2007 and 2008 tariff credits (EnergyOn nr.1 Securitisation Notes for a total of €1.258.600.000) and phase two referred to 2009 (EnergyOn nr.2 Securitisation Notes for a total of €442.450.000). EnergyOn innovative operations were the first securitisation of regulated assets in Portugal. The securitised credits bear an outstanding quality associated with the unique deal structure, and enabled Moody´s Investors Service to rate as Aaa 99,6% of the total amount to be issued

According to information made public by CMVM, CaixaBI is nr.1 in the ranking of received brokerage orders, with a market share of 26,3% for the period of January-February of this year.

The construction of the new Braga Hospital was awarded Europe Health Deal of the Year 2009, by Project Finance magazine, a leading title from Euromoney. CaixaBI acted as Mandated Lead Arranger both in the infrastructure construction and maintenance of the hospital and in the clinical management, which amounted a total of 186 million euros. The sponsor for this 30 year project was Group José de Mello, and the execution by Somague and Edifer.

CaixaBI ranks nr.1 in Bloomberg´s League Table for 2009 Issuer Bonds in Portugal. In 2009 CaixaBI was bookrunner in 19 deals totalling 3,248 million euro.

Dealogic - the leading project finance analyst house - has just made public its League Tables for the 3 quarters ending September 30th. In Portugal, leadership belongs to CaixaBI, as Mandated Lead Arranger in 9 operations that amounted to 1 billion dollars, thus achieving a market share of 43.58%. In Iberia, CaixaBI was 3rd while it secured the 4th position in Europe. CaixaBI was 7th in the world, for PPP type operations.

On October 6, this year´s world´s largest IPOwas concluded withe the successful placement of 16% of Santander Brazil´s equity, after capital increase and Greenshoe. CaixaBI was an active participant in the institutional bulk, having promoted contacts with a significant number of European investors, namely in Iberia, thus achieving a geographically diverse placement. The operation amounted to 14.1 billion Reais (5.4 billion Euros), including Greenshoe, and contributed to enhance capital markets dynamics, specially in emerging markets weakened by the world´s financial crisis. CaixaBI´s participation underlines the international recognition of the bank as atop player with a strong presence in capital markets operations. CaixaBI was also invited to participate in the current international placement of CCR – Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias. Euromoney has recently awarded CaixaBI as Best Equity House in Portugal.

CaixaBI, and ESN (European Securities Network) accomplished a roadshow to introduce european corporates to north american investors. Among those corporates were the portuguese SONAE and REN, who atracted the attention of those willing to increase their presence in Europe.

CaixaBI ranks 2nd Global Project Finance / PPP for the 1st half of 2009, according to Dealogic League Tables. For the 1stH 2009, CaixaBI has been MLA in transactions for Group CGD amounting to €1,337 million.

CaixaBI has been awarded Best Equity House 2009 in Portugal, at July´s Euromoney´s Awards for Excellence, in London. The prestigious award recognises Caixa´s investment bank´s performance in Equity Capital Markets. CaixaBI was Joint Global Coordinator e Joint Bookrunner in several operations for the past 12 months, namely the IPO of EDP Renováveis, the biggest deal in this area in Europe in 2008, and the largest capital increase in Portugal since 2001.

The Banker magazine has announced the Deals of the Year 2009, having awarded Deal of the Year in Europe for Project Finance, the Tuin Zonne €941m project to finance the construction of a portfolio of 23 photovoltaic sun parks in Spain, the largest project of its kind to date. Also awarded was Tunel do Marao toll road concession, considered Highly Commended Deal of the Year in Europe for Project Finance, where CaixaBI participated as Adviser and Mandated Lead Arranger. Dealogic´s League Tables for the 1st Quarter 2009 have placed CaixaBI in leading positions: 5th Global Project Finance loans and 2nd European Project Finance Loans; 1st Global PFI/PPP Project Finance Loans, 1st Provider of Global Project Finance Loans and 4th Arranger of Global Project Finance Loans. CaixaBI was MLA for Auto Estrada Douro Litoral that ranked 9th in the Top 10 Project Finance Deals.

Tunel do Marao was awarded European Infrastructure Deal of the Year 2008, where CaixaBI was Adviser and Mandated Lead Arranger. Tuin Zonne was European Renewable Solar Deal of the Year 2008, and CaixaBI was Mandated Lead Arranger. SH130 was North America Transport Deal of the Year 2008, and CaixaBI was Mandated Lead Arranger.
